Happy 4th of July

We spent the Fourth of July in the beautiful mountains of Greer Arizona. Tyson's parents have a cabin and a few times a year we meet up there for a couple of days. It is always such a fun place to go and especially now that all of our kids are getting older and they play outside nonstop. We went up on Thursday night and came home Saturday night, it was a really quick trip for us, but it was well worth spending time with family. We went into town for the Fourth of July Parade in Springerville and Porter told me that was the first parade he has ever been to (so sad). My favorite part were the Apache helicopters that flew over head, and on one of the helicopters you could see one of the soldiers leaning out waving. It was such a sense of pride that ran through me for our country.

We also went on Memorial Day weekend and for those of you that remember it was a very cold weekend. We drove almost the whole way up in a snow storm. The snow started just outside of Globe and it continued until we reached the cabin three hours later. It was falling so thickly that we couldn't see 100 yards in front of us. It was beautiful the flakes were huge and I could see the detail as they were falling on our windshield. We ended up having a foot and a half snow at the cabin. That is seriously crazy, that area doesn't get that much very often in the winter time, let alone the very end of May beginning of June. We had such a great time, the kids loved playing in the snow, they needed boots, hats, and gloves the whole shabang. We took the kids sledding, and had snow ball fights. It was so beautiful. The snow only lasted about three days but we were sure excited to experience the miracle of the weather.

A fun time indeed! I bet it was nice and cool. And the snow?? I thought you mistakenly wrote "Memorial Day" instead of "Labor Day" or something since it looked like full-on winter. So weird, but looked like lots of fun.

I love cabin memories! So sad the Harbaugh cabin is gone. Glad you have somewhere to go with your kids to make the great memories we had when we were little. Looks like a blast (and once again, you look great!)

Don't feel bad about the parade thing...I am sure I have permanate hearing loss because of all the ones we went to growing up! If there was a parade happening, we were there!
